Mane & Aubameyang: Two Africans in 30-man Ballon d'Or 2017 Shortlist

Liverpool winger Sadio Mane has been included on the list of nominees for the Ballon d'Or.
Throughout Monday, France Football has been revealing players shortlisted for the prestigious award, with Paris Saint-Germain's Neymar featuring in the first group of five names and Tottenham Hotspur's Harry Kane being included on the third batch.
The fourth selection includes Senegalese attacker Mane, who has scored 11 goals for club and country since the start of 2017 and continues to be regarded as one of Liverpool's key men.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who stars for Borussia Dortmund and his from Gabon has also been included in Ballon d'Or 2017 nominees shortlist.
Current holder Cristiano Ronaldo is expectedly topping the list.
Ronaldo, who scored 42 goals in 46 games as Real Madrid won La Liga and the Champions League last season, is hoping to win the prestigious award back-to-back.
If the Portuguese star succeeds, it would be his fifth Ballon d’Or; a feat that would move level Ronaldo with long-time rival Lionel Messi who is also among the latest nominees.
Also the likes of Neymar, N’Golo Kante and Kylian Mbappe who enjoyed varying degrees of successes with their clubs and countries are also shortlisted.
The award, which is void by a select panel of journalists, will be announced at a ceremony in London next month.
